Ravelympics

I have joined an Olympic team for the Ravelympics. I just could not resist all the excitement going on with everyone planning projects. I am thinking about doing a pair of socks.
We are having tons of snow and cold weather. I really don't enjoy the cold and need a pick me up.
I am currently working on a pair of fingerless mitts, a Peaks Island Hood, and a Log Cabin Blanket made from scrap yarn. I am spinning 8 oz. of Merino/Silk/Bamboo from Miss Babs in the Mums colorway. It is yummy!
Lou seems to have disappeared on me again. It has been her turn to post for a long time so I gave up on her. She has been sick with an ear infection so we will forgive her, won't we?
Lou is on a Make Do and Mend Challenge based on a series of podcasts from Cast On last year. We have agreed on a craft diet. No new sock yarns, 1 book per month, 1 pattern per month, no yarn or fiber purchases other than at Fiber Fairs, and an exception can be made if both of us approve for really good sales. It is January 12th, and I have purchased nothing. I have some orders from the end of December trickling in, but no purchases. Lou purchased Made in Brooklyn by Jared Flood for her book this month. I am planning on saving my book purchases and doing an order right at the end of Knit Picks book sale. Saving on shipping LOL.
